Late 19th century mahogany tall case clock.

Quality!  that is what should pop into your mind when you look at this tall case clock.  The solid mahogany case is robust without feeling “heavy”.  The full columns, beveled glass and three brass finials all add a feeling of refinement to this timepiece.  The dial of the clock is of the same unyielding quality as the case.  The dial is made of heavy gauge brass with a silvered chapter ring, seconds sub-dial and calendar ring.  the spandrels are of cast bronze and the working moon dial is fully operational.   The 8 day movement of this clock (probably English) strikes the hour at the hour and once at the half hour on a gong.  This grandfather clock would look incredible in any foyer, but would also be very appropriate in a den or living room.
