Early 19th Century English Corner Slant Front Secretary
This early 19th century English corner slant front antique secretary is the only one of its kind that we have ever had in the shop. Although we tend to see other corner-based furniture such as cupboards, corner desks are quite rare. This piece is made out of walnut, with a flamed grained walnut pattern. Circa 1820, the desk was created in the Queen Anne style, exemplified by the cabriolet leg, the shell pattern on the knee and the pad foot. The piece includes bronze hardware, a mirrored upper cabinet door housing a small nook, one drawer, and a drop lid writing desk that opens to reveal a document organizer.
