Antique Roast Holder

Circa 1920s, this antique roast holder harkens back to the days of formal dinner parties, when the roast was set on the table and carved in front of guests. Articulating to 90 degrees for easy input, the nickel spring-loaded sliding arm pinches the roast (or ham), holding it steady for carving. The meat is held above the marble base, allowing for enough room to place the slices underneath. The marble features peach, ivory, tan and grey veining, and includes a juice groove to catch and hold drippings. Felt has been attached to the bottom to protect the table. Roast holders are quite rare these days, and offer a unique way to serve your holiday meal. It also makes for easy self-serving at a buffet. Have a vintage kitchen utensil collector in your life? This roast holder makes the perfect gift!
