Mid 19th century English tall case clock in mahogany.

In my opinion, some pieces of antique furniture seem to have a warm aura about them.  This English tall case clock (circa 1860) is one of those rare items.  The unusual pattern of the plum pudding mahogany case in conjunction with the warm tones of the hand painted dial are two of the contributing elements to this clocks “presents”.  Other notable features of the clock are the operational moon dial, 8 day movement and the striking of the hour on a wonderfully resonating bell.  This charming clock would certain work well in the entryway, but its full magnificent would be realized in the comfort of a den or family room.
