Late 19th Century Set of Six Antique Chippendale Style Side Chairs with Ball and Claw Feet

Circa 1890, the wonderful carvings featured in these English Antique Chippendale style side chairs will add an artistic element to any dining room. Crafted out of mahogany, the lovely curves of the backs are complimented with a ribbon motif and entwined acanthus leaves, flowers and pinecones are carved in patterns throughout. A shell pattern medallion with scrolled acanthus leaves on the front of the seat rail is typical of the Chippendale style. The scrolled acanthus leaf pattern continues to the knees of the front cabriole legs which lead down to beautiful carved claw and ball feet. Covered in off white muslin, the seats offer a clean, neutral look allowing the woodwork to shine. Even 100 years later, the sturdiness associated with the deep seat rail and hefty knees of the Chippendale style is evident in these chairs. They are the perfect compliment to our custom round pedestal table!
