Late 19th Century Napoleon III Style Antique Vitrine
The French designed vitrine may also serve as a bookcase and the smaller size of this piece makes it quite unique. The clean lines, fluted front edges and turned legs with bronze trim are all indicative of the Napoleon III style. We find bronze inlaid into the mahogany throughout this piece, and was even included in the front trim on the adjustable interior shelves. The extraordinary condition of this antique vitrine is exemplified by the original beveled glass that fills three of its sides. The unusual size of this antique vitrine makes it quite versatile for today’s homes; it would fit well in small, hard-to-fill spaces, such as an entryway or hallway.
